About Our Tours
We are one of Wisconsin's longest-running museums, having opened to the public in 1932. We strive to provide quality tours that are both informative and enjoyable. Tours are docent-guided. A typical tour lasts approximately an hour, although tour lengths and topics can be adjusted to suit your needs and interests, so please ask. We look forward to your visit!
If there are 12 or more people in your group, we suggest that you contact us ahead of time so we can reserve a time slot for you. We also host school field trips in the spring and fall (May being the busiest month), so we may not be able to accommodate public tours on some large field trip days; please consider calling ahead or visiting on a weekend instead during those times.
Group Tours
Please contact us to schedule a tour for your school group, bus tour group, or other large group. We will work with you to plan your special day with us. We can also coordinate with the Fort Winnebago Surgeons Quarters down the road and the Museum at the Portage if you wish to visit two or all three sites the same day. Alternatively, you may arrange for History on the Move to come to your school or facility. We are pleased to design custom learning experiences for you!
